Joe Dudek

Orchestra Conductor

Joe Dudek (Band Director) graduated from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), in 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. He returned to CSUF to complete his Master of Music degree in Instrumental Music Conducting in 1996. Mr. Dudek began his teaching career at Riverside Poly High School where he taught for 4 years. Later, he returned to his hometown of Anaheim and taught at South Jr. High School, where he was named “Teacher of the Year,” and at Kennedy High School. The Shamrock Regiment of Kennedy High School boasted a 250-member marching band and was invited to participate in the Opening Ceremonies of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. During this trip, Mr. Dudek also conducted a concert in the Sydney Opera House and served as an Assistant Director for the 2000-piece Olympic Band. In 2004, Mr. Dudek moved to Corona’s newest high school, Santiago High School. He is the director of the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz II, Jazz III, and the lead director of the marching program at Santiago High School. In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Dudek is currently serving his second term as Vice President of Festival Adjudication of the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA). He is responsible for assigning judges for over 100 festivals in Southern California and for training and mentoring newly appointed judges. Mr. Dudek is a well-respected Fieldshow, Parade, and Concert Band adjudicator for SCSBOA and is often a presenter or clinician at music conferences throughout California
